Türkensterz (Austrian Cornmeal Scramble)
A traditional Austrian dish made from cornmeal, particularly popular in Carinthia, which achieves its crumbly consistency through slow steaming.

Ingredients
- 400 g Cornmeal
- 750 ml Water
- 1 tsp Salt
- 50 g Butter
Instructions
- 1. Bring water and salt to a boil in a pot.
- 2. Slowly pour the cornmeal into the boiling water while stirring constantly.
- 3. Allow the mixture to steam slowly over low heat for about 30 minutes.
- 4. Carefully loosen the mixture with a fork so that the typical small crumbs form.
- 5. Melt the butter and pour the hot butter over the dish before serving.
